Victims like Lorena whose husband was not only abusing her, but sex trafficking her in a foreign country. She was in fear of her life, knowing if her husband found out she had emailed us he would kill her.
Lorena was at a breaking point. Our crisis email advocate was able to provide emotional support and give Lorena information to help her decide her next steps. Safety planning had to be strategic to minimize danger. She was terrified but relieved to know she was no longer alone.
With the help of other partner agencies, Lorena is back, safe in the USA. But the critical first step of a very long process was possible because of your belief in our mission.
