Anabelle's mother Patrice contacted us via the crisis email distraught that her daughter Anabelle was being abused by her father abroad.
She felt helpless. Calling the police was not an option as her husband had connections in the police department. Patrice just wanted to come home back to the USA.
Over several weeks we helped Patrice understand what evidence she needed to gather, safety plan to help keep Anabelle safe and ultimately devise an escape plan so she and Anabelle could get back to the USA.
Just last week Patrice arrived home with Anabelle and they are living with a relative. Here is part of an email from Patrice.
"You were our guiding light back home. I don't know if I would have been brave enough to escape without your help. We will be forever thankful."
We want to thank you for helping keep the crisis email operating so we can help vulnerable American mothers and their children abroad.
