So far this year you have made it possible for us to help 61 abused American women and children experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault abroad in 26 different foreign countries.
With just this crisis email as our only form of providing ongoing support since federal funding was discontinued to assist American victims abroad almost five years ago, you keep this lifeline of hope going through your donations to this project.
Without this crisis email, most of these victims would have nowhere else to turn. Most are not ready to take the official step of going to an American Embassy and they want someone to communicate with confidentially and securely as they safety plan, understand what their options are, receive information, referrals, validation of their victimization and emotional support.
This communication happens over weeks and months as they understand how to navigate to safety, at which time they are often ready to go to the American Embassy for additional assistance if passports need to be issued, if they need a repatriation loans etc.
We can't thank you enough for making it possible to provide services to 61 American victims abroad so far this year!
