Alexis held baby August close as the threats from her husband in Honduras escalated. She knew she had to make an impossible choice: stay and risk further harm, or flee everything familiar to protect her child from her own father.
With courage and determination, she reached out to Pathways for help. We worked with Alexis over several weeks and helped guide her through the steps she would need to take. Through urgent safety planning, legal consultations, coordinated international relocation, and secure arrival support, Alexis and August were able to flee Honduras and come back home to the United States and into safety.
Today, August is growing in a home free from fear, and Alexis is beginning to breathe again. Because of your generosity, a young mother was able to choose protection over violence — and give her baby the safe future every child deserves.
