Martynas is five. The boy is treated for a malignant eye disease almost as long as he lives.
Sometimes I think about the strength and patience of Martynas and his parents. How to keep hope and faith for so long?
Probably many people, who have not been in similar situations, do not even think about the infinite source of power hidden in a person. Especially when it comes to our children.
Martyn is our hero of heroes. The boy is counting the fifth year of long, difficult, but hopeful treatment.
Wishing Martynas and his parents a successful recovery and hope, we share the experience of the boy's mother Milda's last treatment trip in Switzerland:
"hello
Another trip has passed. By that time, we managed to organize the documents and extend the funding for the treatment. We thank the employees of KMUK, VLK and SAM for helping to extend the payment for the fifth year. Yes, yes, for the fifth. We have counted 4 full years of treatment, so we are starting to count a little bit to five. No one could have expected that our healing path would take so long. And at the beginning, we naively hoped that we would only have to travel for a couple of years. Eh. The twists and turns of fate are unknown.
So, about the visit itself. Before the trip, we bought flight tickets, arranged schedules, accommodation, etc. An ordinary trip, so everything is familiar and easy. But, 2 days before the flight, we received a message that our visit was postponed a few weeks. Anyway, not like that, we managed to agree not to change the date of our visit. However, there was a condition - Martynui will be examined without anesthesia.
When we went to the hospital, we didn't have a ward on the day of the visit, so we spent the whole day lurking in the corridors of the hospital. It was possible to perform the examination without anesthesia in the morning, but we had to wait the whole day for the answer. All this time, Martyn was not allowed to drink or eat, because in case of poor results, we would have received treatment.
In the end, we got a meeting with prof. Munier. No changes were found during the inspection. A little tired, but having received good news, we left for home.
By the way, we can be happy that Martynas can even see the second line from the top! A miracle, knowing that he doesn't even have an eye center. And it's all thanks to the hard work of doctors and gluing the eye.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the funding of the travel expenses. We would not have achieved so much without you.
Next visit in a couple of months. Best wishes and many smiles to everyone from Martynas!"
We sincerely thank all benefactors for giving Martynas and his friends the opportunity to recover from a rare disease - a malignant tumor of the eye.
