Eye Camp for Children with Disabilities and Disadvantaged Community Members

PROTIBANDHI SHISHU SHIEKKHA O PARICHARJA SAMITY Project designed to ensure Basic health service of 60 Cerebral Palsy Children , Bangladesh. Project area is far distance from hospital. Parents not aware about cerebral palsy children; they are neglected. So difficult for them to accesses medical hospital. Family suffers from inferiority complex, which result in their exclusion from everyday life. We support Diagnosis, Assessment, Medical treatment, Medicine, parents Training, Therapy services for physical and mental improvement.

During the last quarter 30th April 2026, PROSHIPS organized an inclusive Eye Camp in Jamalpur District for children with disabilities and disadvantaged community members. A total of 60 children with disabilities received eye examinations, vision screening, medical consultations, and referrals for specialized treatment when required. Community members and parents were also provided with awareness sessions on eye care, early detection of vision problems, and blindness prevention.

To improve the health, wellbeing, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities and disadvantaged communities in Jamalpur District, Bangladesh, through accessible and inclusive health and education services.
To identify and address eye health problems among children with disabilities and vulnerable community members, contributing to the prevention of avoidable blindness and improved quality of life.

The Eye Camp increased access to essential eye health services for vulnerable families who often face barriers to healthcare. Several parents expressed their appreciation, stating that the initiative helped identify vision-related problems at an early stage and reduced the risk of preventable blindness among their children. The program enhanced awareness of eye health, encouraged timely treatment-seeking behavior, and strengthened community confidence in disability-inclusive health services.

Through this initiative, PROSHIPS contributed to improving the health and future educational opportunities of children with disabilities in Jamalpur.
