Mothers' Clubs Instrumental in Burn Camp
By Ashley Pugh | Program Officer
Dear HOPE Supporter,
Thank you for your continued support. Due to your support of our Mothers' Club, you have helped us make our second burn relief camp a success. ReSurge International, a California-based partner of HOPE's, is currently at HOPE Hospital providing reconstructive surgery to burn victims as well as training and education to our local health workers. Our Mothers' Clubs were an integral part of our outreach program, referring neighbors, friends, and sometimes members of their own families, to the hospital for care. Without the assistance of our Mothers' Clubs, we would not have reached some of the most remote communities that we were able to.
We look forward to sharing our burn patient stories with you after the camp to show you know how impactful your donation was. Thank you for your support as always.
Sincerely,
Ashley Pugh

Women Flooding HOPE for Critical Care
Dear HOPE Supporter,
As we begin an exciting new project providing safe delivery and pregnancy support to rural women in Cox's Bazar, our Mothers' Clubs are more active than ever. HOPE Hospital staff consulted with members of our clubs to recruit pregnant women from their villages who would, due to financial, transport, or traditional reasons, give brith at home at the hands of untrained birth attendants. They futher wouldn't understand the need for antenatal care, and most certainly would not see it as necessary for the health of themselves or their baby. As it stands today, 284 women have been enrolled to receive maternal care they are desperately need. Our efforts are greatly supported by the Mothers' Clubs who spread our messages, counsel their fellow community members and encourage better health for their communities. We are cotninuously greateful for the success our Mothers' Clubs contibute to in every project.
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh

Antenatal Care Provided During Mothers' Meeting

Mother's Club Meeting in Ramu
Dear HOPE Supporter,
In our last Mothers' Club Meetings, the objective was to provide antenatal care to expectant mothers who are otherwise either unable to pay for ANC care or are unaware of its importance. During one Mothers' Club meeting, HOPE staff were able to not only register 7 new expectant mothers into our database to follow their progress and provide care as necessary, but also conducted their first antenatal care service. Dr. Shoaib, HOPE's Hospital Director spoke of the importance of receiving antenatal care and the complications that can arise for mothers and baby the services are not sought. Dr. Shoaib further enlightened the mothers on the top preventable diseases the local children are suffering from and what they can do to protect their children. I was there at the meeting and found the mothers to be greatly interested in receiving the information; it was obvious they were retaining the information as they repeated back the information to Dr. Shoaib and answered questions on previous knowledge they had. It was a great learning experience for all. Thank you for your continued support of this ever-increasingly important project.
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh
