Educating Through Uncertainty

Bonjou GlobalGiving Family,

We hope this update finds you well.

Despite the continued instability in Haïti, the Saul Louis Community School in our Mountainside Partner Community remains open and operating, thanks to your unwavering support. Our teachers continue to show up, lead, and teach under incredibly difficult circumstances. We are deeply grateful to you for helping us make that possible.

In our last report, we shared that we were working to raise $20,000 for the current semester of teacher stipends (January–June 2025). We are pleased to share that we’ve raised and sent $5,000 so far. We still need $15,000 to ensure that all teachers are compensated for their vital work.

In collaboration with the APHD Peasant Association, and in response to the ongoing political and economic challenges, the Stakeholder Community Association has made the tough but strategic decision to pause 7th–9th grade classes for the 2025–2026 academic year. Students in those grades will be placed in nearby schools on the mountainside. This shift will help us conserve resources while we continue to raise the annual $65,000 needed to run the school and pay down the remaining construction debt.

Even in the face of adversity, the commitment to education remains strong. The Saul Louis Community School continues to serve K–6 students each day, nurturing the next generation of Haitian leaders.

We are pressing forward, and we invite you to continue standing with us. Every gift helps us empower our teachers to keep doing what they do best: educating the next generation.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in this vital work. Together, we will keep moving forward.

This is Development With Dignity.
