Eighteen Years And Still Going Strong!

By Clara Nowak | UK Director

Hayley was suffering from a huge tumour
Hayley was suffering from a huge tumour

We can’t quite believe it believe it but last month we celebrated TOLFA’s 18th Birthday! What an amazing 18 years we have had, so many challenges along the way but the reward is always helping the animals and witnessing their amazing recoveries!

We have helped over 300,000 animals to date, and it would not be possible without your incredible support.

Recently we were called to help Hayley, an older female dog who was burdened by a huge mammary tumour hanging from her underside. Hayley had been living in considerable pain and discomfort for a while but luckily a kind soul called us in time. After careful examination our vets decided to perform life-changing surgery to remove the tumour. After the operation was a success, Hayley spent a month receiving intensive care to aid her recovery, and she emerged a true survivor!

Karthik is a young bull, but a rope had been tied around his leg when he was small. As he grew the rope became tighter until it was cutting into his skin and muscle. By the time we were called to rescue Karthik the deep wound was already infected. It would have been only a matter of days before maggots started to eat away at his leg.Karthik was rushed back to our hospital where he was assessed by one of our vets and his course of medical treatment began, along with a big dose of care and love from our Large Animal Team.Karthik is recovering well here at TOLFA, and it won't be long before he is once again back at full health!

These are just two animals who we have rescued recently with YOUR help,

Thank You.
