The monsoon has begun in earnest with over 24 hours of constant, heavy rain arriving just a few days ago. Our main compound was under water for several days with our staff having to wade through knee-deep water in some places. Locally, the lakes in nearby Ajmer and Pushkar burst their banks causing disruption for both people and animals.
Despite the challenges, our team carry on regardless, both caring for the animals at the hospital as well as continuing our rescue services in the area.
During each monsoon season, our staff demonstrate their heroism by coming together and putting in extra effort to care for the sick and vulnerable animals amidst the heavy rainfall. Additionally, we encounter challenges such as power outages and internet disruptions caused by strong winds and electrical failures.
Despite these hardships, the unwavering dedication of the team ensures that every animal receives the attention and medical care they need. The sight of our staff working tirelessly, often knee-deep in water, is a testament to their commitment and compassion.
