Meet Nina. J.K she is 26 years old. She was born in Arumeru district, she is the firstborn in her family. Her mother and father never lived together and she was left by both her parents to be raised by her grandmother to date. And when she started primary school she asked for her father, her grandmother told her he had died. She was enrolled in school by her grandmother at Mikuuni Primary School and finished primary school in 2009, where she was then selected to join secondary education at Malula secondary school in King’ori village. Due to financial challenges, Ninael dropped out of school in 2011 after doing her form two examination and stayed at home for one year helping her grandmother by doing some cheap labor in the village to earn a small income for food and necessary needs such as cloth, shoes etc. In 2013 Ninael tried to sit for the secondary school national examination as a private candidate but did not succeed because she lacked studying resources and she stayed home again for 2 years, until when she heard about Jifundishe from a political campaign in the village. She was excited about the services offered at Jifundishe and her lost hope about a bright future was back to light again. Nina joined Jifundishe in 2016 as a qualifying test (QT) student to start studying again informally. She sat for her exams repeatedly for 5 years and now she has completed Advanced level secondary education in May 2021. The result came out the first week of July 2021, she did very well. Nina is thankful to Jifundishe. She participated in different youth campaigns and capacity buildings that involved other youth from Jifundishe partners she now has a broad knowledge on cross-cutting issues, sustainable development goals, and gender issues at the national and international levels.
Nina scores division two in her exams, she is getting ready to join university to study Bachelor of Education.
“I appreciate the programs offered at Jifundishe because they helped achieve my educational goals and life in general. GODBLESS JIFUNDISHE”, said Nina
