Dear Friend,
On behalf of all our staff and patients, thank you for your generous giving to Partners in Health! We are so grateful for your partnership and commitment to our mission.
While cholera is still prevalent in Haiti, we are not able to provide detailed updates currently due to extreme political and social instability plaguing the country. The health and safety of our colleagues and patients remains our highest priority. While the PIH-supported Hospital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM) in Haiti has not been attacked at this time, the surrounding gang violence is ongoing, unprecedented, and poses grave risks to everyone in the area. The monitoring and observing system in place to confirm and track the cases of contagious diseases is being debilitated by lack of resources and dangerous roadblocks.
We continue to care for sick patients who have cholera symptoms with rehydration treatments, antibiotics, and zinc supplements, and we are still working to support patients’ hygiene and sanitation needs.
Your gift could not have come at a more crucial time for PIH and Haiti. The communities we serve now require more support than ever. On behalf of our staff and patients in eleven countries worldwide, thank you for choosing to support Partners in Health!
In Solidarity,
Partners In Health
