Dear Friend,
On behalf of all our staff and patients, thank you for your generous giving to Partners In Health! We are so grateful for your partnership and commitment to our mission.
Unfortunately, cholera continues to spread in Haiti, but we are not able to provide detailed updates currently due to extreme political and social instability plaguing the country. The safety and well-being of staff and patients of Zanmi Lasante (ZL), PIH’s sister organization in Haiti is our highest priority and we continue to work closely with local authorities to take every precaution possible.
We continue to care for sick patients who have cholera symptoms with rehydration treatments, antibiotics, and zinc supplements, and we are still working to support patients’ hygiene and sanitation needs.
Zanmi Lasante remains strong and continues to operate facilities and provide critical care and resources to those who need it most--patients like Acefie, pictured above.
Acefie, who has been living with HIV for 17 years, was diagnosed with tuberculosis in 2024. She receives care and support from Zanmi Lasante including:
• Intensive medical care
• Psychological support
• Nutritional support
• One-off financial assistance
• Ongoing emotional support
“If Zanmi Lasante wasn't there, I wouldn't be alive. Zanmi Lasante is not just a hospital, it's hope. It's family. It's love. Thank you very much for everything you do for those who don't have money, for the unfortunate, for those who suffer.”
On behalf of Acefie and all of the staff and patients you support, thank you. This work would not be possible without you.
