Eulalia with her students
With much satisfaction and pride, we want to share the good news that Yolanda and Eulalia, two Aché students who graduated from CEM in 2011, completed their studies in the field of Professor of Bilingual Education in Spanish and Guaraní, both official languages of Paraguay. Both students attended the Superior Institute of Linguistic Sciences of Villa Ygatimi. The graduation ceremony will take place on October 24. Eulalia is now teaching in the school in the Aché community of Arroyo Bandera. This is a very important success, with a positive impact on both the lives of the new professors and for their community.

CEM Stand at Teleton's Comilona
5 CEM students traveled to the capital of Asuncion to participate in the charitable event “La Comilona de TELETON”, consisting of a great fair to benefit the Teleton Foundation. During the event, the CEM had a stand where they sold products produced on the CEM farm, such as tomatos, peppers, mandioca/yucca, peanuts, honey, dulce de leche, jam, etc. Additionally an exposition was mounted with Yerba Mate, where information was given about Mbaracayú Lodge, and the different tourism packages available to visit the reserve. It was very successful and many products were sold, all for the autosuficiency of CEM and prepared specifically for the Teleton. The event happens annually with thousands of people in attendance, and is an activity hosted by Foundation Teleton to finance their activities. Vendors are invited to sell their products, with a percentage benefitting the Teleton and its activities for children with neuro/muscular/skeletal disabilities.

Astrid at the 2014 Global Peace Convention
Astrid, a graduate of CEM, is organizing various youth environmental education activities in the Community of Villa Rica. She is a scholarship recipient at the National University in Villa Rica in her second year, studying environmental engineering with other scholarship students.
Strid is busy preparing for a three-day work shop to be held in Villa Rica and Paso Jovai about youth leadership and bioconstructions. The workshop will be given alongside Peace Corps Volunteers. Current CEM 1st and 2nd year students will attend this workshop, this first in which an alumnus is the instructor and organizer, in addition to participation from the Alumni Association of CEM. This is a great opportunity to bring together a small group of the large family that is CEM, and an excellent opportunity to show current students what is possible with the education they are working so hard to receive.
