February 27 2012 was not merely another rainy day in the Mbaracyú Forest Reserve. Despite the challenges posed by almost impassible roads, 45 new students’ lives were about to change for the better as they were welcomed into the folds at the Mbaracayú Girls School. The new students hailed from rural communities near and far. They were shown to their rooms, given a tour, and made to feel at home by staff and students alike. The day unfolded with icebreakers and team building activities, creating a fun atmosphere filled with love and support to help the girls integrate with their peers. As the day progressed, the initial nervousness that the new students and their families felt subsided, and was replaced by a feeling of excitement. Fundación Paraguaya and Fundación Moises Bertoni provided the girls with personal affects and school supplies they needed to start off the school year. These young women are on the path to being college bound! Please help them and their peers continue on the path of higher education by making it possible for them to acheive a seemingly impossible dream---to attend univeristy.
