Boosting creativity through Arts & Crafts at our library!

Making a bracelet with friend at the library

Arts & Crafts is an activity to channel the children’s creativity, feelings and imagination. According to experts, this activity has been proven to improve motor skills, encourage focus, train and nurture creativity. It is the children’s favorite activity at the library, especially for preschool and primary school students. Sometimes, our librarian will demonstrate how to make a craft and the library members can copy, or they may also create their own craft with the materials given at that moment. After the session, the children can bring their creation home to show their parents.

One of the crafts that they love to make is a bracelet made of rope. This activity has been done so many times yet it’s still being requested by the children. They sometimes ask to make more than one bracelet, because they want to offer it to their loved ones: siblings, parents or other friends. Our librarian will allow them to make a maximum of 3 bracelets. In order to instill teamwork and empathy, Kak Rusti, the librarian, will ask those who are experts in making bracelets to teach their friends who have just learned.

We cannot thank you enough for your generous support of this project. We’re so happy that the library continues to be a safe and comfortable facility for the many children living in the surrounding villages. Your kind donation continues to provide various materials for the activities in the library. Thank you!
