As previously reported, an unfortunate storm disaster took place in Freetown in May this year. This storm affected many homes in the Wellington municipality. Many trees were uprooted and roof tops of houses were blown away or raised. Over one hundred and fifty houses were affected. More than 30 children attending Door of Hope After-School Lessons were affected.
Thanks to your support, we were able to provide financial assistance to the families of 19 children. The photos in this report show some of the children in our program that benefitted from the funds we provided.
The storm disaster caused some families to move to a different house / location. Money distributed was
used to fix the roofs and other part of the buildings that were affected. For some families money provided was used to secure new rental houses. Some funds also went toward clean-up efforts – clearing debris, fallen trees etc.
The support YOU helped to provide was a welcome and immediate relief – helping to restore normalcy and relief to several families. THANK YOU for your support that enabled us to provide this vital aid in time of need. Many of them would have suffered a serious setback without YOUR support!
Your support brought a ray of hope and encouragement to the families. They were delighted to receive the crucial assistance and asked us to convey their deep gratitude to YOU. Thanks so much for your on-going support!
