When Hope Pauses: Temporary Setback in Our Home Rehabilitation Project in Syria

By Mahmoud Al-Ali | Project leader

Dear Valued Donors,

We extend our deepest gratitude for your continued trust and support of our humanitarian work.

We would like to inform you that, at this time, our project supporting the rehabilitation of war-damaged homes in Syria is facing a temporary setback due to a significant shortage in available funding, despite the urgent and growing needs on the ground.

Project Background

This project aims to support the most vulnerable families by helping them repair partially damaged homes, allowing them to regain a sense of safety, dignity, and stability after years of war and displacement.

Reason for the Setback

Although our field teams are fully prepared, beneficiary families have been identified, and technical damage assessments have been completed, limited financial resources have prevented us from continuing the planned implementation phases. This challenge is further compounded by:

  • Rising costs of construction materials,
  • The vast scale of destruction and number of homes requiring repair,
  • Increasing pressure from other essential humanitarian needs.

Our Commitment to Transparency and Accountability

We assure you that all received funds are managed with the highest standards of transparency and responsibility. The project has not been canceled, but is temporarily on hold until sufficient funding is secured to resume implementation effectively and sustainably.

Looking Ahead

With your continued generosity and solidarity, we hope to relaunch this vital project as soon as possible, contributing to:

  • Restoring hope for affected families,
  • Improving living conditions,
  • Supporting community recovery in the aftermath of war.

In closing, the continuation of this project depends greatly on your humanitarian partnership. We deeply value your role as true partners in creating lasting impact and positive change.

With sincere appreciation and respect,
