Help to Rebuild Three Primary Schools

Three years ago on this day, a severe earthquake struck Morocco. The epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains, devastating many of the surrounding villages.

The Eve Branson Foundation launched an emergency fundraising appeal and mobilised support on the ground, helping to reach those most in need with essential supplies.

Our recovery effort then moved towards restoring daily life and helping to bring the local economy back to some sense of normality. As tourism slowly began to recover, we worked with local partners to rebuild livelihoods and community infrastructure .  

Since then, our team have focussed efforts to accelerate the reconstruction of schools that were badly damaged by the earthquake. In 2025, we completed our first primary school in the rural village of Imi Oughlad before embarking upon an ambitious project to build a modern primary and pre-school in the village of Tansghart for more than 250 children.

We are excited to share the latest photos with you from this much anticipated project and to have a sneak peak at the inside of the building which has been making incredible progress over the Summer. It really is starting to look like a school now and one which is going to have the wow factor!
