At Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd (SKER), we’re working tirelessly to secure funding for several critical wildlife projects — and today, we’re incredibly proud to share a major achievement made possible by the generosity of our amazing supporters.
South Australia’s Largest Koala Pre-School
This month, we officially completed the build of our Koala Pre-School — now the largest pre-release tree yard in South Australia.
This purpose-built, natural environment is designed to give orphaned and rehabilitated koalas the best possible chance of thriving when they return to the wild. With mature trees, climbing structures, and enrichment features, the yard allows joeys to build strength, develop vital wild behaviours, and grow in a safe and supportive space.
A Special Yard for Violet
We also built a dedicated yard for Violet, one of our very special koalas whose journey has inspired so many. This tailored space supports her ongoing rehabilitation and ensures she receives the care she needs to prepare for her next steps.
Thank You for Making This Possible
These projects are only possible because of the kindness and generosity of our donors and community. Every contribution — big or small — helps us build stronger, more resilient facilities for our wildlife patients and provide 24/7 specialist veterinary care.
Your support is changing lives, one koala at a time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The SKER Team
