Hi, thank you so much for your financial support for this project to help street girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is so sad to see young girls forced to live on the streets because they are so vulnerable in the that rough environment. The Kimbilio team of carers prioritise bringing these girls to a place of safety by offering a place in one of the two houses that we run for girls and by beginning contact with their families to arrange reintegration if possible.
At the moment, the short-term girls house has 12 children and the longer term girls house has 14 children. It is so heartening to see the smiles return to the girls faces as they are given love and care and the chance to go to the Kimbilio school. They also form friendships with the other girls who have experienced the same rejection and this helps them to grow stronger.
