By Andrew Mullens | Kimbilio Support
Hi, Thank you so much for your financial support for this vital Kimbilio Project which provides safety and care to girls who are forced to live on the streets in the city of Lubumbashi. Young girls are very much at risk on thestreets and it is not uncommon for girls with young babies to come to Kimbilio for help. We don't judge these young people but show compassion to them.
The Kimbilio team of carers endeavour to take the girls off ther streets if possible and into one of the two girls homes that we run. In 2025, the short-term Transit House had on average 22 girls living there and the long-term house an average of 24 girls. The choice of house relates to the task of reintegrating the girls into their families and how long this may take.
There is a real joy that returns to girls lives when they are cared for by the Kimbilio team. Art is a good therapy because it allows the girls to express themselves. In addition, the girls at the longer-term house will get the opportunity to go to the Kimbilio School and restart their education.
It really is life-changing work that Kimbilio does with these young girls and your donations enable this work to go ahead. Thank you again.
