I have been working with K4AK (Kids 4 Afghan Kids) for the past 15 years to help support Afghan children in many aspects of their lives. This incredible organization strives to support these families through education, meals, shelter, clean water, health care, and other various areas. I want to share my personal experience about all that has happened in the past decade. I have witnessed many boys and girls take the path of higher education even when they thought it was impossible. They had no hope in a future, no hope in their dreams coming true and it was incredibly heartbreaking to witness. Ever since K4AK, I have seen children reach their dreams, finish their education, move to a different country for career opportunities and support their families. Women have also had the opportunity to become nurses and doctors in the clinic that was built by the organization. They have also had the opportunity to become teachers in the school where they were once students. I joined this organization because I saw change in the village atmosphere from their passion and persistence. K4AK along with many other organizations have permanently helped our nation in many aspects. Every organization has helped according to the limited budget they have, some have a larger budget than others, I believe the long term budgets and consistency is what really matters to build a stable future for the ones in need. From what I have witnessed over the years, the long term plan (projects like K4AK) is where there is more success. Even if it is a drop of water, it makes a world of a difference.
