Dear Amazing Donor,
Early December 2020 Halt Poverty announced the continuation of COVID Relief: Individual Microgrant Initiative. Eligible hospitality and tourism community and residents in all regions of Madagascar can apply for a modest microgrant to cover necessary expenses or gaps in income resulting from the economic repercussions of COVID-19.
With your contribution, we are committed to ensuring that our most vulnerable communities have the support they need to weather the short-and long-term impacts of the coronavirus outbreak. When faced with a gap in income, families already structurally underemployed or living paycheck to paycheck face impossible choices between keeping up with rent and essential utilities and keeping food on the table.
We are especially grateful for your support on this uniquely challenging year. Halt Poverty COVID Relief Individual Microgrant Initiative provide flexible microgrants that families can use to pay for whatever expenses are most urgent for them. Your gift supports one or more of the following items depending on the needs of each family:
In this report, your gift brings modest economic opportunities for decent livelihoods to a family in Ihorombe region which is home to Isalo National Park. Quick fact about the region. High rate of poverty is prevalent (Instat, 2012) in rural areas affects a significant proportion of working age population.
The COVID Relief: Individual Microgrant Initiative continues to provide support to hospitality and tourism community struggling to make ends meet as the pandemic and its economic impacts continue. We simply could not do this without YOU: donors, GG amazing staff and partners. Thank you for constantly inspiring us to make the world a better place.
With appreciation,
Halt Poverty Team
