PROJECT REPORT
HELP TRAIN HUNDREDS OF SINGLE MOTHERS IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUGUST 2022
Introduction
This document is designed based on the results obtained in the execution of our 2022 development strategy and, of course. in response to the men, women and organizations and groups) who, with their solidarity, have made contributions of different types (contributions in cash, transfers and donations in kind so that we can continue developing the vision of this initiative.
With great pleasure we present the achievements obtained in this semester that has been a great blessing for our beneficiaries.
Below, we present a summary of the progress made in each of the initiatives proposed for this particular project.
1.1. Advances in infrastructure of the Technical Training Center
Our center is reinstalled and operational thanks to the various donations received, and especially to a special contribution from the Airbandb company through GlobalGiving last year. We have been able to advance practically 85% of the renovation of our FUNCOMAS Technical Training Center.
In this sense, we have made significant investments in the remodeling, adaptation and preparation of our facilities to receive the students and the laboratory of our beauty academy.
The space we have is not a very large location, but it has been very useful for our workshops. Currently our center has a practice laboratory for beauty and esthetics courses in general, and a classroom with capacity for 20 students, fully equipped and air-conditioned, which are kept in permanent operation.
1.2.Awareness of gender equality
During the period June-August 2022 we have held 2 conferences on Gender Equality, Rights and Civic Duties and with the participation of 160 women and young people, especially students. These activities are intended to generate a positive impact on problems of domestic violence and social discrimination of Dominican women through the awareness of the affected population.
These events have been well received by our community, thanks to the participation and hiring of highly trained professionals to offer these services. Especially doctors, psychologists, lawyers and social workers.
In addition, the support of our group of volunteers has been very valuable.
1.1. Crafts and recycling workshops.
We have continued the recycled craft workshops, with the making of our well-known decorative bottles. The bottles are made by our students through mostly recycled materials and are then sold as a way to obtain resources for the foundation.
