September Is Hunger Action Month

Greetings from Asbury Park!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! September is typically known as Back To School Month but we know it as Hunger Action Month. Lately, we've been pushing a campaign called #VisualizeHunger. The campaign is meant to highlight the impact of hunger in our communities during the summer - one of the most critical times for our naiton's hungry. If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, check it out, and SHARE a post about it on your facebook or twitter page. Don't forget to tag us with @MoveForHunger and #VisualizeHunger.

We're just past our halfway point through 2013, and I'm pleased to share some exciting updates with you:

Our goal was to deliver 1,000,000 lbs of food to food banks across America by the end of this year - we met that goal in our first 6 months!
We are working hard to meet our goal of adding 350 new moving companies to our network this year, doubling our total network to 700. We've hit the halfway point and are now working with over 500 moving companies nationwide!
Our final big, bold, hairy, scary goal was to organize 250 food drives this year. We've completed 130 - AND COUNTING!

I want to thank you all for your generous support in helping us get this far! Please continue to help us reach our goals by making a donation during Hunger Action Month!

Any donor of $50 or more this month will receive a Move For Hunger T-Shirt - and they're pretty good looking if I do say so myself :)

We also ask that you work with us to organize a food drive this fall. CLICK HERE for some good ideas to get started. We'll provide you with fliers, collection boxes, and even send a moving truck to pick up your donations and bring them to your local food bank. Yup - It's that easy!

Move For Hunger has grown tremendously over the past 4 years. We couldn't do what we do without the support of donors like you. Thank you again for believing in our cause, and we look forward to finishing out 2013 strong!
