Hello! This month I want to share with you some very exciting work we have been doing here at Move For Hunger. Several weeks ago, I attended the Alliance To End Hunger National Hunger Free Communities Summit and also the FRAC (Food Research and Action Center) and Feeding America annual conference, both in Washington, DC. Community leaders involved in hunger free initiatives from around the country gathered for four days of discussions, collaborations, and education. To quote a speaker of the conference: "More than 50 million people nationwide are unsure where their next meal will come from. This issue is too large for any one organization to tackle on its own, so collaboration is necessary to maximize efforts and make the greatest impact." This is where Move For Hunger's mission is so crucial. The fight against hunger needs to be an all hands involved issue. Our growing network of movers, real estate agents, and relocation professionals, along with YOUR support allows us to grow our network, organize more food drives, and deliver more food to local food banks. I was thrilled to catch up in person with representatives from food banks all across the United States whom we work every day to support. The last day of the conference, I, along with representatives from three food banks in New Jersey, met with congressional representatives of New Jersey on Capitol Hill for a day of advocacy and hunger awareness. What a thrilling experience!
