Help Us Fight Hunger Across America

The end of the school year for many means summer vacation, beaches, and fun. For those less fortunate however the summer months can mean reduced access to food. Currently there are more than 16 million children (nearly one in five children in America) that struggle with hunger. Federal nutrition programs offer students free or reduced-price lunches during the school year. According to the Food Research and Action Center, more than 20 million children receive a free or reduced-price school lunch on an average school day. For many students, these are the only meals they receive during the day. When school is not in session, the meals they relied on are no longer provided. Hunger doesn't take a summer vacation. 

The summer is also when most moves occur. Working with over 600 relocation companies across North America, the Move For Hunger network has a vital opportunity to deliver additional food to the shelves of the food banks during these months. The movers in the Move For Hunger network bring food donations directly to the food bank, saving the food banks on transportation and delivery costs.
