Some parts of an education stay with us because of what we learn. Others, because of the people we meet or the places that awaken our curiosity, stir something in us, or introduce us to an interest we never knew we had.
At Integrar, we make room for both. Helping young people become professionals includes nurturing their interests, broadening their relationships, and encouraging them to participate in their community's cultural life. That is the purpose of IntegrARTE, our annual encounter that brings together students from both scholarship programmes, volunteers, and staff through art and culture, helping strengthen the connections that make Integrar a community.
On September 5, its fourth edition took us to Buenos Aires’s Teatro Colón. For every student but one, it was a first visit. The exception brought a lovely twist: Dolores, who is completing her Bachelor of Social Work with an Integrar scholarship, had already performed there as a professional violinist with her orchestra.
Visiting the Colón was a moving experience, filled with awe at its beauty and gratitude for the chance to discover such a magnificent part of Argentina´s cultural heritage. Afterwards, the excitement turned into possibilities: could we attend a rehearsal? Come back for a performance? What other places could we discover together?
That curiosity is worth nurturing. Cultural participation gives young people opportunities to discover what moves them, encounter different perspectives and develop their own tastes and judgments. It also strengthens the sense that the cultural life around them is theirs to explore, question and contribute to.

Alongside the resources and guidance to complete a degree, students find relationships and experiences that enrich how they see the world and their place in it. These discoveries help shape the people and the professionals they are becoming.
