Introduction

The "Help with Medications for Children with Cancer" project aims to provide essential medications to children battling cancer in Ghana. Access to necessary medications can significantly improve the quality of life and treatment outcomes for these young patients. Unfortunately, many families face financial hardships that prevent them from affording these vital treatments.

Project Objectives

• To ensure children with cancer receive timely and adequate medications.
• To alleviate the financial burden on families affected by childhood cancer.
• To improve treatment adherence and outcomes for pediatric cancer patients.

Project Activities

1. Needs Assessment: Conducted assessments to identify children in need of medications.
2. Medication Procurement: Collaborated with local pharmacies and suppliers to source essential medications at reduced costs.
3. Distribution: Established a systematic distribution plan to ensure that medications reach children in a timely manner.

Progress to Date

• Children Assisted: To date, we have assisted 12 children with cancer by providing them with essential medications.
• Partnerships Established: Collaborated with pharmacies and organizations to secure medications.
• Community Outreach: Engaged with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of medication adherence in cancer treatment.

Challenges Faced

• Funding Limitations: The ongoing demand for medications has outpaced our current funding capacity.
• Logistical Issues: Transportation and distribution of medications remain a challenge in remote areas.

Funding Needs

To continue and expand this vital project, we urgently require additional funding. This funding will be used for:

• Procurement of medications
• Transportation and logistics
• Outreach and education initiatives for families
