When the heaviest rains and floods recorded in 120 years have struck the people in Serbia, thousands of children were homeless in one day, without food, water, and dry clothes.
Back then, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated. Roads were destroyed, and for days it was difficult to reach all those whose houses were in the water. In just a few days, about 5,000 children have been displaced, left without any clothes, shoes and other necessities. Their parents have lost all they have produced, their businesses and many of them their jobs, mostly in the field.
Consequences of that natural disaster are still visible in the lives of children who lost homes, their parents lost their income from agriculture, since the floods ruined all those hardworking people have been doing for years. Families are still recovering from this catastrophic event, still remembering the day that took everything from them.
Your continuous support allows Pomoc deci to provide those children with textbooks and other school supplies. Now, when they are still recovering, life is moving on, and many of those children are receiving our scholarship, either for elementary, high school or universities. We assist to flood victims so that they can regain their livelihoods and children to continue with education.
All children have a right to education and to live life that is good, where they can fulfill their potentials.
Let`s help them do that!
Yours,
Pomoc deci
