Dear friends,
Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to reach children in some of the most vulnerable communities in Serbia this summer. Your donations are more than just numbers, they are notebooks in a child’s hands, safe nights, and the quiet reassurance that someone cares.
In the village of Batocina, four siblings are facing life with courage: Sladjan (8th grade), Sladjana (6th grade), Andrej (3rd grade), and little Jovana who is only four years old. Their parents, living in a remote village, are struggling, as their mother is battling illness. To attend school, Sladjan and Sladjana travel nearly 50 kilometers from home and stay in a dormitory during the week, while Andrej goes to school in Planinica, about 28 kilometers away. Despite the distance, they are all doing well in school, a testament to their strength and determination. For them, every pen, every notebook, every book is a symbol of hope.
In the Tekija area near Kladovo, families have faced devastating wildfires, severe droughts, and even the loss of entire flocks of goats to wolves. For children growing up in these conditions, the support you have provided means stability and comfort in an uncertain world.
In the dormitory of Brza Palanka, children who live away from their families for schooling found encouragement and support because of you. Your kindness helps them not only survive but also thrive, dream, and believe in a safer tomorrow.
Every story is different, but they all have one thing in common, your generosity has made them brighter.
On behalf of all the children and families you have touched, thank you. You are helping us rebuild childhoods where hardship tried to take them away.
With gratitude,
The Pomoc deci Team
