We love to submit our quarterly reports for the GlobalGiving site for Sugar’s Gift! Here is our June 30, 2017 report to our donors. We love every single one of our donors no matter the amount given to us. We appreciate every dollar we receive that goes toward our mission. Animals are so precious and we need to make their transitions to the Rainbow Bridge as loving, caring and peaceful as we can. That is why we began Sugar's Gift, Inc. Again, I know all of your probably know our mission, but here it is in black and white:
SUGAR’S GIFT, INC.: Our mission is to provide hospice, euthanasia and end-of-life veterinary services for terminally ill pets in their own homes. This allows them a comfortable, peaceful setting, where they have lived and been loved, to cross over the Rainbow Bridge with dignity. Our services overcome conditions that could be due to the pet’s inability to be moved or treated at a facility, or due to the owner’s inability to leave the home.
Our 10-year old Yorkie, Sugar, passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2013. We made sure she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge from home with comfort, dignity and peace. Sugar’s Gift to your Little Angel is to allow them the same privilege: Sugar is helping them cross over the Rainbow Bridge from home, with the help from others who have donated funds to make that happen. Every Little Angel should be able to spend their last moments in the place they are most comfortable – at home.
SUGAR’S GIFT, INC. is the only non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in the country whose mission is to help terminally ill pets cross over the Rainbow Bridge from home with comfort, dignity and peace.
We have received a new recurring donor on our GlobalGiving site! Thank you more than you know, Patricia A! Recurring donations are the best – they allow us to do more planning and know what our cash flow is at all times. If you start a recurring donation this week of June 5-12, we have a 100% match from an anonymous donor through GlobalGiving!
We received a call the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend from Robin A. Her baby kitty of 16 years was diagnosed with jaw cancer and was not unable to eat. Robin called after she found us on a Google search for “home euthanasia near Bradenton.” Sugar’s Gift appeared at the top of the list, and she went to our website and called us. Little Starboard was getting worse and she asked if we could help. Naturally, we wanted to do whatever we could! Starboard’s favorite place on earth was their sailboat and she asked if Starboard could pass to the Rainbow Bridge on the boat – we accommodate every baby to be as comfortable as possible, and we made that happen for Starboard and Robin. Starboard had a good weekend with Mom, drinking tuna juice, and on Tuesday, our kitty vet, Dr. Z, met Robin and Starboard on their sailboat and Starboard crossed over the Bridge, peacefully and comfortably, with Mom holding her hand. She will be waiting for Mom at the Bridge…..
That is what Sugar’s Gift is all about. We want to be able to help every single baby who needs to cross the Rainbow Bridge – from home where they have lived and have been loved.
You, as our donors, made this happen! We can't thank you enough! We ask that you please spread the word to others who love animals to see if they would donate to our special cause. Every person’s donation goes toward the next baby’s Rainbow Crossing.
This bears repeating: As Nikki recovers from her traumatic brain injury, we are hopeful that 2017 will be our breakout year. One of the reasons we wanted to partner with Global Giving originally is that the Animal Planet has its R.O.A.R. project with them, and we eventually want to be a part of that. We are striving to achieve this by the fall of 2018.
Our goal is to help one pet per day cross over the Rainbow Bridge with comfort, dignity, and peace. It costs us approximately $1,000 to help one pet. We expect that once our presence is known, we will need to fund one pet per day by the end of the first year. By the end of 2022, we hope to be not only in the Sarasota/Bradenton region but also in all of Florida. Then, by the end of the year 2023, we want to be nationwide. We have already received requests from San Francisco, Atlanta, New York, Kansas City and Austin, TX to rollout to their cities as we can.
If you are not on our email list for our newsletters, please let us know if you would like to be added.
Thank you, again, for your support for Sugar's Gift - but, more importantly, thank you for helping all the angels who really need your funding to help them cross the Rainbow Bridge with comfort, dignity, and peace. Again, please feel free to share our information with your family and friends, or anyone who loves their babies as much as we do.
