Project Report | Jan 1, 2019
To our project supporters in Abra, Philippines

Provision of relief goods among the victims.

On behalf of the typhoon Mangkhut victims in the municipalities of Dolores and Lagangilang, Abra Province, I would like to extend my gratitude for the generous support that GlobalGiving donors have extended in our project.

Right after the typhoon, we have conducted relief operations by distributing goods like rice, noodles, coffee and sugar, canned goods, and used clothes among the victims. We targeted the local farmers whose rice fields were devastated by the overflown river, as well as the farmers whose farmlands were covered by rubbles as an aftereffect of the typhoon. Other than providing the necessary agricultural inputs such as vegetable seeds and fertilizers, we let them used our agricultural equipment and machineries to lessen their burdens in preparing their farmlands. We also purchased hose and water pumps and distributed among the locals, as well as the needed fuel to pump up water from the river to water their crops. As a result, the locals are now preparing for their crops to be harvested after a few more months.

Prior to the provision of the necessary agricultural inputs, we organized the community for them to be more cooperative with each other particularly in the crop production. According to them, they feel grateful for helping them in overcoming their difficulties in life.
