Dear friends and supporters,
We are so thankful for the generosity you have shown these past six months. Who knew this COVID reality would last as long as it has and with no clear termination in sight. All of the support you have given us has gone to support our programs for the most vulnerable families in San Miguel.
Thanks to your help we were able to provide 1,000 masks to our families, purchase an electronic thermometer to regulate temperatures, provide groceries once a month (with the help of Feed the Hungry) and conduct wellness checks on our students.
Paty has been working hard to make sure no student loses out on early childhood education. Her reaction to this situation and her ability to conduct the necessary outreach to our families has proven her value and why she is our Executive Director. She has worked tirelessly with the teachers to ensure a smooth transition to distance learning for our young ones.
Distance learning officially started in September with each class meeting three times a week via Zoom. Paty and the teachers designed a program where students receive materials, learn online and submit their work virtually. Be happy to know our kids are continuing to learn and are loving every minute of it! Check out our new blog post about it and ways to help here.
We hope to have good news regarding the daycare and in-person classes for January 2021.
Stay tuned to what's to come!
Saludos a todos,
