High Five for Health helps improve access to essential healthcare resources for individuals and families in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where cost and access barriers can delay or prevent needed care. Through VIHELP, a program within PAVI, this support helps connect patients to the care and medication access they need. By inviting donors to "give a high five to health" and starting at just $10, this project turns small contributions into meaningful support.
Many individuals in the U.S. Virgin Islands face significant barriers to accessing timely and affordable healthcare services. On St. Thomas, uninsured and underinsured patients often delay or avoid care due to cost, limited resources, and difficulty navigating the healthcare system. As a result, preventable conditions can worsen, and individuals may go without essential behavioral health care and medications that are critical to their overall well-being.
High Five for Health will help reduce barriers to care in the U.S. Virgin Islands by directly supporting patients with access to essential healthcare services and medications. The project will help cover costs that often prevent individuals from seeking or continuing care, including medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments and medication access support.
Serving over 6,000 patients annually, St. Thomas East End Medical Center is a critical access point for care in St. Thomas. Many of these patients access medications through PAVI, and this project will help expand medication and healthcare access support for those most in need.
