Bring healthcare to thousands in rural Nepal

1. Introduction of the training

Himalayan Health Care-Nepal in collaboration with Marie-Stopes Center, Satdobato conducted IUCD training to 10 Government service providers of Dhading. The Training was conducted  from 2^nd to 9^th July 2023. The eight days course included classroom session, demonstration, and practice in anatomic model and case perform in real client at Marie Stopes Center-Satdobato, Chuchepati, Putalisadak and Gongabu. The Training emphasized on application of knowledge and attitude in the performance of skills based on humanistic training techniques. The training was conducted by Dr Bijay M (FPE), Jamuna T (training officer) and Sabina D (trainer).

2. Objective of the Training:

• To create positive attitude towards IUCD 380 A as well temporary F.P. methods among, service providers.
• To enable them to perform IUCD 380 A counselling, insertion and removal.
• To provide knowledge and skill to manage side effects and other problems related IUCD.
• To provide knowledge about IUCD 380 A & its types.
• To able properly screening for IUCD 380 A & they provide quality IUCD services in their clinic.
• To gain knowledge about specific IUCD 380 A counseling & pre, during & post counseling.

3. Activates done:

• First 3 days theory session including practice on Zoe model on classroom
• Practice on real client under the supervision of trainer on different MSCs
• Closing including MCQ, Action plan and feedback session

The training session ran very smooth and the expectation of the participants were fulfilled. All participants were competent on counselling, insertion, and removal of IUCD.
