Every New Beginning Carries Hope
For a woman living with HIV, pregnancy can bring hope, but it can also bring fear, uncertainty, and difficult questions about her own health and her baby’s future.
Through La Casa de la Sal’s HIV-Free Childhood program, women are reminded that they do not have to face this journey alone. Our team provides comprehensive psychosocial support and works alongside specialized health services to strengthen treatment adherence, promote emotional well-being, and help mothers prepare for the arrival and early development of their babies.
During this reporting period, we continued accompanying mothers through pregnancy and early motherhood, creating safe spaces where they can ask questions, express their fears, receive guidance, and find the support they need to care for themselves and their children.
For more than 20 years, this work has helped make HIV-free beginnings possible for more than 1,000 babies. Each one represents more than a number: it represents a mother who received support, a family with new possibilities, and a future shaped by hope rather than stigma.
Our work continues because every mother deserves to experience motherhood with dignity, support, and the certainty that she is not alone—and every child deserves the opportunity to begin life free from HIV.
