The security problem in Colombia is still far from being resolved, despite the agreements that the government has made with part of the guerrillas, and the neighborhoods where the children who frequent the center live are extremely dangerous. Crime is the main risk for the many children who, despite having parents, are forced to spend entire days on the street in the absence of care and protection. Their loneliness destines them to be defenseless victims of violence, sexual abuse, exploitation or prostitution, denying them the right to go to school and to grow up in a peaceful environment.
The Hogar San Jeronimo center therefore wants to be a place of protection, where you can feel safe, appreciated and recognized. The pedagogical and educational activities really want to help these children overcome the trauma suffered and rediscover tranquility and peace, essential elements to be able to grow.
The smiles and games were certainly not missing at the party that the educators organized for all the little guests: it was a beautiful day and, thanks to technology, even Aleimar managers managed to connect Skype with the center and wish everyone children a happy and peaceful Christmas!
Reigniting hope in the eyes of these children is our big goal and, only thanks to your help, we could win this game together!
