Dear Romanian Animal Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we announce to you, as well as ask for your help, for the new Romania Animal Rescue Center that is being built outside of Bucharest. This clinic will be the newest location for Homeless Animals Hospital, our Spay and Neuter Center, and the headquarters for the Veterinary Training Camp.
The construction has started, but we need help...help for infrastructure costs such as equipment, maintanence and to support more staff at this second location. The peasant villages around Bucharest are inundated with abandoned dogs and cats, puppies and kittens. We are inundated with pleas for help from Bucharest and surrounding areas, the largest population region of Romania. Our never ending mission to Establish Animal Welfare needs to reach out to these extremely impoverished communities as much as possible, thus this location was chosen. Dr. Aurelian Stefan and his brother Dr. Petrisor Stefan's grandmother once owned a house on the land where the Center is being built. It is our sincere hope that you will help us and our new Homeless Animals Hospital location to help more and more animals and prevent suffering. A donation, no matter the size, will help us to help animals that would otherwise receive none.
Within the past few months since our last update, more animals have received free help at the Craiova clinic and on the road with HOPE, our mobile spay and vet clinic. Animals have been treated for massive tumors, car accidents, critical situations all thanks to the support YOU provide to us. We were also able to help with adoptions, and send a special paralyzed girl, Summer aka Darcy, on her way for a great life in the UK, complete with a wheelcart for mobility. Karin, a dog who's front legs were cut off by an abuser, was also in need of a cart to be able to get mobile again. Thanks to our wonderful donors, Karin is now having the time of his life in his new home as well!
The second massive spayathon was held in Craiova in October, providing excellent spaying and neutering and veterinary care for 600 animals in 6 days, with a grand total that will reach 1000 animals. Volunteers from the USA, UK,Germany and Romania helped to make this another amazing event. This will bring the total for our spay and neuter work in Romania over 10,000 for the year, and over 40,000 since we began these campaigns in 2008-2009.
I hope you will continue to support the great and essential work of HAH. Each animal treated owes his thanks to you, our fabulous donors, who realize that no matter the location, an animal in need of help is an animal in need of compassion. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
*Special thanks to MPL for written permission to Romania Animal Rescue and Animal Spay Neuter International's use of Sir Paul McCartney's song "Hope of Deliverance" as the theme song for HOPE, our mobile clinic, for 3 years. Thank you Sir Paul for this great song of HOPE!
