Meet Chocolate, saved by HAH

By Nancy Janes | President,Founder and CEO, Romania Animal Rescue

Chocolate
Chocolate

Dear Friends,

Chocolate is a little stray pup who has been brought to us by a kind Samaritan who found her on the street.

We think that Chocolate has been hit by a car or possibly hit by a person.

She was distressed when she arrived at the clinic so was quickly assessed by our team who discovered that she had a diaphragmatic hernia. This injury can be caused by a forceful blow.

Chocolate has had surgery to fix this hernia as her intestines and liver were compressing her lungs and heart. There was a danger that she would go into respiratory and metabolic failure and die.

As well as this very serious trauma, Chocolate has two bad fractures to her leg.

Dr. Pepe Stefan has assessed the fractures and he needed to use two plates to fix her tiny little leg.

Thankfully we were able to help little Chocolate with our wonderful Homeless Animals Hospital program that allows a sweet puppy like her to come into our Center of Hope hospital for free care.  We can only help animals like Chocolate with donor support.  Her costs were over $600, and thanks to donations, we could cover this cost.

We have weekly and often daily requests for help from the good people who come across needy animals like Chocolate.   Can you help us to continue to help these sweet babies with a donation to the Homeless Animals Hospital Vet Care Program?

Thank you for reading about Chocolate.  Please join our Facebook page and see the latest video of her and the other work we are doing!   She is up and hopping along getting some supervised exercise and is no longer the frightened little pup that we met a couple weeks ago!

Thank you and happy autumn!
