Summary
The objective of this project is to rehabilitate people living on the streets by providing employment opportunities, guidance and counseling, de-addiction and vocational training programs. This project also aims to bring them and to integrate with the main stream.
Challenge
The urban poor and homeless individuals living in Puducherry are facing many challenges and the photograph shows their living condition. Their illiteracy, lack of financial support, unemployment and addict to alcoholism lead to their poor living condition. Also the community does not get much support from the government. All these factors lead them to undergo struggle and make them dwell on the streets.
Solution
In 2017, we aim to support 10 homeless women with children at our Homeless Centre. At our Centre we will provide them services such as counselling, domestic violence protection, de-addiction and rehabilitation support. We will also arrange access to vocational training and micro-credit opportunities to help them achieve financial stability. Children will be provided proper education and access to any of the evening schools of Prime Trust.
Long-Term Impact
To empower and support these individuals reintegrate into society without having to live on the streets.
