Summary
This project aims to support homeless families living on the streets by providing empowerment, counselling, de-addiction and vocational training and to bring them to the main stream of the society. Also, we are raising support to set up a short stay home for them.
Challenge
These people are neglected by the society and they are unaware of the schemes and support offered by the government. The lack of education, shelter, alcoholism and poverty made them be away from the main stream.
Solution
As a small initiative, Prime Trust is trying to create a home which supports 10 homeless women along with their children in the home. The centre will provide support for counselling and guidance, de-addiction and rehabilitation. We will also provide them vocational training and micro credit for their financial stability.
Long-Term Impact
To empower and support these individuals reintegrate into society without having to live on the streets.
Updates
After receiving support from the Global Giving, Prime Trust offered school supplies for the children, chappels and storage boxes to keep their valuables. Now we are trying to form women groups to get micro credit from us so that they can start their own business and thereby the family would get a regular income. Regular awareness program on alcoholism, domestic violence are offered to them on every Saturday.
