Project Report

By Noel Banda | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for standing with us. Because of your support, families displaced by floods and economic hardship in Malawi are rebuilding with dignity and hope.

‎What we did this quarter
‎With your donations, Chinseu CBO was able to:
‎1. Provide emergency relief to displaced households in Lunzu and surrounding areas. We distributed maize flour, beans, blankets, and soap to help families through the rainy season.
‎2. Support shelter repairs for families whose homes were damaged. We provided iron sheets, plastic sheeting, and basic tools so parents can keep their children safe and dry.
‎3. Launch skills training  for displaced women. The group is now learning tailoring and small-scale business skills to earn income and reduce dependence on aid.

‎Impact story: Meet Elube
‎Elube, a mother of 3, lost her home in the January floods. She and her children sheltered at Lunzu primary school for weeks. Through your gifts, we helped her with food and iron sheets. She told us: _"I thought I had lost everything, but now my children sleep under a roof again. Zikomo kwambiri."_ Elube has also joined our tailoring group and is hopeful she’ll soon sew school uniforms for income.

‎Challenges we faced
‎Heavy rains made some roads impassable, delaying deliveries to 2 villages. Prices for maize also rose sharply. We stretched every kwacha and prioritized the most vulnerable households first.

‎What’s next
‎In the coming months, we plan to:
‎1. Expand tailoring training to reach 30 more women
‎2. Distribute drought-resistant seeds to 50 families before planting season
‎3. Continue home visits to monitor children’s health and school attendance

‎Thank you
‎Your generosity is more than a donation. It’s hope, a blanket, a roof, and a new skill for someone who felt forgotten. We are deeply grateful.

‎With hope,
‎The Chinseu CBO Team
‎Blantyre, Malawi
