We had our first meal service for the Community LUV (Lifting Up our Vulnerable) Café. The project is an expansion of our existing food service and is designed to provide hot meals, hot showers, hygiene products, clothing, and outreach resources to those who need them.
To begin, we will have the program every 3rd Monday from 9am until 2pm.

1-2 Outreach services
Meal coupons will be made available at different homeless shelters and other community places that are frequented by the targeted community. We partnered with our neighboring motel to rent rooms to provide hot showers before the meal service. Initially, we will serve a maximum of 50 persons on a first come first served basis each. We will circulate about 100 coupons each month to allow for no-shows. We will collect hygiene items to distribute to participants, along with some clean clothes to give to participants after showers.
Our first service was a learning experience. In the future, we are planning to include transportation services to make the program more accessible to people who are not within our immediate walking distance.
