As part of our ongoing efforts to support the most vulnerable families in northern Gaza, we provided a shopping voucher as financial assistance to Umm Hassan, a widowed mother of three children living in one of the displacement camps.
This time, we chose to offer support in the form of a shopping voucher rather than a traditional food basket, allowing the family to select the items they need most according to their own priorities and daily needs.
Umm Hassan visited a local store and was able to purchase essential food items and household necessities for her family. This approach helped meet the family’s needs in a more effective and flexible way. We also observed that this initiative was highly appreciated by displaced families, as it enabled them to obtain the items they truly needed rather than receiving a fixed food package.
Amid the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by displaced families in Gaza, such initiatives help preserve the dignity of families and empower them to provide for their most urgent needs.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped bring hope and relief to families in need.
