Disaster Impact Overview: Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm, has created devastating impacts across the Southeast: • Over 120 lives lost • Millions without basic necessities • Widespread infrastructure damage • Communities struggling without power, food, or safe shelter • Particularly severe impacts in North Carolina.
Active Case Overview:
Current Assessment: Structural damage from severe weather, Impact on daily living conditions, Accessibility challenges, and health-related complications.
Status: Professional evaluation phase; waiting for the contractor damage report and estimation.
Next Steps: Complete damage assessment and develop a comprehensive support plan.
Action Steps in Progress: The initial needs assessment has been completed, the Case verification process has been established, Professional evaluation is pending, Support coordination has been initiated, and Resource allocation planning is underway.
Rehabilitation Strategy: Immediate safety measures, Property restoration planning, Living condition improvements, and Long-term stability support.
