On Thursday, September 7, Hurricane Irma passed to the north of Haiti. Heavy rains fell, and many areas were flooded. Our Diaper Drop Real Hope for Haiti flooded, which made caring for the children incredibly challenging. Emergency supplies were used up, and the village rallied to help clean and restore the medical clinic, intensive care unit, and rescue center.
Thanks to your amazing financial support, we were able to replenish emergency diapering supplies and meet the diapering needs of the children at Real Hope for Haiti and those impacted in the community as well. Our work now is focused on traditional poverty alleviation, instead of disaster response. It's a joy to finally reach this point of "disaster readiness", and we're excited to close this project. This will allow us to laser focus in our main project in Haiti: Empowering Mothers in Haiti . I encourage you to follow along there. We'll continue sharing the impact of our work in Haiti, and progress being made. Please reach me at stephanie@jakesdiapers.org with any questions you may have. I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for helping babies!
