Institute of Health Management, Pachod, (IHMP) is the executive body of the Ashish Gram Rachna Trust (AGRT). AGRT was registered as a Public Trust in 1979.

IHMP has been working in the most underdeveloped villages of Maharashtra for 50 years and in the slums of Pune city for the last 30 years. During this period, the Institute has developed and implemented innovations in the field of reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health, child nutrition and development, behavior change communication, communicable diseases, empowerment of adolescent girls and women.

Since 1986, Institute of Health Management, Pachod (IHMP) has trained over 10,000 health professionals from the NGO sector and 200 district health officials from the Government sector. Participants came to IHMP for training from all the States in India and the following countries: Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In 1979 AGRT took on lease, 15 acres of land in Pachod village along with the existing structures. The lease comes to an end in October 2028.

In 1998, AGRT purchased 17,000 sq feet of land in Pune city. AGRT proposes to construct a Women’s Health Training and Resource Centre on the land owned by it in Pune before the lease in Pachod comes to an end. The proposed cost of the training centre is the equivalent of £1m GBP
AGRT has successfully raised £544,539. Construction of the training centre will be initiated as soon as the Trust is able to mobilise the proposed cost of the training centre. The Institute plans to reach another 10,000 NGO professionals with capacity building and training.  The training to these other NGOs will be based on the programmes that IHMP currently run for adolescent girls and young married women
