The children who diligently practice and participate in the team of Young Zulu dancers are doing well. We have been providing meals and also took them a treat of Easter Eggs for Easter Sunday. As always they were overjoyed to receive the food and were very pleased with the unusual treat of chocolate eggs.
We have begun to round up the contestants that Muzi, their coach has to choose for Talent Africa event in June this year. The children will first participate in the Regional contest against many schools and individuals and we believe that they will once again qualify for National Talent Africa. This year we are adding some new aspects to their routine including a few acrobatic /gymnastic movements.
These children are not average - they are exceptionally talented! It is a joy to work with them and experience their determination, agility, excellent timing, and fun-filled happy attitudes!
Occasionally they break away during their Sunday performances to relax a little. At the first available opportunity, they challenge each other to a game of football/soccer! it was amazing to watch them and to my amazement, because they did not have a ball they made one from plastic bags. Their idea is ingenious but it also demonstrates that "necessity is the master of invention!" Nevertheless, we will be buying one or two brand-new soccer balls for them and their dance coach will keep the balls safe.
High on our list of importance is to build a shelter for the dancers. It is sad to see them in the rain trying to shelter under a tree where they practice. We are awaiting the Chief's approval to build on the land that belongs to the Community.
It would be a dream come true if we could eventually acquire a bus to transport them as they walk many kilometers to reach their practice venue in the bush every week. We also have to hire vehicles to transport them to contests and other events so if any donor would consider helping us acquire a vehicle that would be a miracle. And we do believe in Miracles!
Today any donation up to 50 USD is matched so please consider supporting these wonderful talented Zulu youth!
Many thanks for caring!
